Yesterday was one of the lowest tides of the season, a -4.1 for those of you that know your tides. And coincidentally was forecast as the best day weather-wise of the week. We took advantage of the day and met some friends for a picnic lunch. There was Leeanna, Hazel and Andrew, Valerie and Mirko, Donna and her niece Valerie and her three children Courtney, Caitlyn, and Carson and then of course Khalila, Isabel and me. Unfortunately my camera battery died while we were there so I didn't get pictures of everyone. But I did get some pretty good shots. Here's some of the sea life that we saw in the rocks. The girls loved running around the beach. Isabel really just liked splashing in the puddles of water on the beach. Here's Valerie and Mirko exploring. And Khalila, Hazel and Isabel checking out the rocks. Here's Khalila showing off the smallest crab on the beach. While we were there the tide started to come back in. It was amazing how the waves just suddenly picked up and started pouring in. We were right next to the ferry dock. I'm not sure how the ferry could still run. It sure looked like it would have been way too shallow.
