Khalila Day 29

Jan 20 - 23 Pics

Khalila is 4 weeks old.

I fed Khalila from a bottle for the first real non-natural feeding today. She didn't seem to mind the bottle, she drink about 80mL of milk. This afternoon we went to Swedish Hospital to have Khalila's hearing tested. Both ears passed. I tried to get an electronic report but the guy said he couldn't do that. If he had given me 10 minutes on the computer I could have figured something out. Oh well, they're going to mail me a hard copy of it. That was the fastest medical procedure we've had done to date. We were in and out so fast they didn't even charge us at the parking garage. We then went to the new Radar store in Bothel. I bought a box of a 1000 feet of Cat 5 for the temp sensor wiring. We when got home we found out that our friends, Brett and Sue, in Indiana had a baby boy. Henry was born yesterday and he weighed 4.45kg. That's 9lbs 13oz. You can see him here. I wired up some of the temp sensors in the house but don't have them working yet. Tonight we had Jared, Leeanna, Josh and Naomi over for a game night. Naomi made an awesome cheesecake. We played a few hands of hearts and then we played Mad Gab.

We went to Tina's doctor yesterday so we weighed Khalila. She came in at 3.95kg. Check out her updated weight chart.

Last night we took Khalila to Church for the first time. It was a Vespers service. Tina was churched. That is, she was welcomed back to Church after having the baby. This is a tradition in the Orthodox Church after a mother has had a baby upon her first return to Church. I took a picture of Tina & Khalila after the Churching.

The conversion to metric is going well. The other day Tina and I were discussing taking for Khalila for a walk. I told Tina it was 8 degrees outside. She said "What! 28 degrees?". I said "no 8". She said "I was going to say 28 degrees is warm". She was thinking Celsius and of course 28 degrees C is very comfortable weather. It is mild temperate here in Seattle in the winter but not that mild. You can also see that I have Khalila's age in seconds updated at the top of the website. I hope my math is accurate because it is calculatiog it every time you hit the website so you will it change. We should probably talk in millions of seconds round to the nearest 10,000 seconds?
